7 super Anti-Aging foods

May 29th, 2008 By Sookyee | Posted in Anti Aging Vitamins, Natural Anti Aging No Comments »

Antiaging food has been a hot topic recently. Everybody knows that you are supposed to eat more fruit and vegetables to protect yourself from aging. But are all fruits and veggies equally good? Find what specific foods are considered best when it comes to anti-aging diet.

1. Avocado for younger looking skin

People who keep low fat diet usually avoid avocado because it contains a lot of fat. But actually it is high in monounsaturated fat which reduces cholesterol level in the body. Avocado is a very good source of Vitamin E, which is essential for keeping your skin smooth and young. Also avocado contains potassium which prevents high blood pressure. Avocado is great to use in sandwiches instead of butter spread.

2. Berries as antiaging antioxidants

Most berries especially blackberries, blueberries, blackcurrants contain phytochemicals which are powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants help to protect your body against damage caused by free radicals so they are very important for antiaging nutrition. Red grape is technically not a berry, but it has similar properties.

3. Fish for protein and Omega 3 fats

Your body needs quality proteins and some fat, and it is much better to take fish as a source of these and not red meat. Fish supplies us with Omega 3 fatty acids which stimulate the immune system and lowers risk of heart disease. Some studies have shown that people who eat a lot of fish have lower risk of colorectal, esophageal and stomach cancers.

4. Carrots for cancer protection

Carrots are an excellent source of beta carotene which is a powerful antioxidant that fights aging and many diseases. Studies have shown that people who eat one medium carrot a day significantly reduced risk of lung cancer. Beta carotene also keeps your vision sharp protecting your eyes from age related diseases. It is also important for keeping your immune system strong.

Carrots give you most benefits if eaten uncooked. If you don’t feel like eating a row carrot, try adding it to your salads, it gives slightly sweet taste to a salad. Alternatively drink carrot juice once in a while - the juice is a concentrated source of beta carotene.

5. Nuts to bust your immune system

Raw nuts are very high in fiber; they are also a good source of vitamins and potassium, zinc, iron, magnesium, copper and selenium. They control cholesterol level and strengthen your immune system. The only draw back of nuts is that they are high in fat, so a couple table spoons a day is good but not more.

Only row nuts are good anti-aging food. Avoid salted and roasted nuts, they do more damage to your health than bring benefits. A good way to add nuts to your everyday diet is to sprinkle them over a salad or to add them to cereals.

6. Whole meal pasta and brown rice for energy

These contain complex carbohydrates, to insure that you feel full of energy all day. Brown rice is high in fiber and B group vitamins. Only don’t make fried rice out of it - steamed brown rice is the best choice. Whole meal pasta is high in fiber and iron.

7. Water to detoxify and keep smooth skin

Water is absolutely essential for our health. You probably have heard that you should drink 8 glasses of water every day, but do you follow the advice? Water helps to get rid of toxins. Also adequate intake of water insures that your skin looks young and healthy. Moisturizing anti-aging creams and lotions are good, but if you drink enough water your skin will be less dry without creams.

Pure bottled water is very good for you, but not exciting. So you can replace it with other nutritious liquids - juices with no added sugar, herbal teas or mineral water. Fresh fruits also are good source of water, for example watermelon is basically 90% water. 8 glasses a day is a rule of thumb, but in hot or windy weather you might need more.

Include these products in your diet on a regular basis and you will see that soon you will feel and look younger than your physical age.

Anti Aging Wrinkle cream: fact Or fiction?

May 29th, 2008 By Sookyee | Posted in Anti Wrinkle Treatment, Antiaging Skin Care, Natural Anti Aging 1 Comment »

Are Anti aging wrinkle creams all they’re cracked up to be? Or are they just overpriced moisturizers? And even if they do work, will using them really keep you young? And if so, what else can you do to stay youthful? Read on!

Anti aging wrinkle creams can have wonderful anti aging effects. They can also have little to no effect on anything but your budget. So the first thing you should do is do your homework before buying your next (or first) anti aging wrinkle cream. More on this later.

For now, let’s delve into one of anti aging wrinkle cream’s best companions - home made anti aging face masks. These concoctions, when put together with the right ingredients, can lift years off your face, as well as make your anti aging wrinkle cream’s job a lot easier.

If you only knew the benefits these powerful masks have, you would start using them today. Hopefully, after reading this article, you will. I’m going to give you the recipes for 2 of the greatest masks I have personally encountered. The first one is named:

Honey I Shrunk The Wrinkles

Ingredients:

1 tblsp honey

1 tblsp olive oil

1 egg yolk

Mix the ingredients together until blended. You’ll be applying this mask in 3 layers. Apply the first layer and let it dry. Next, apply the 2nd layer, let dry, and apply the 3rd layer. Once the third layer is applied, wait 20 mins and rinse off with warm water. Apply mask once a week for about one and a half months. Repeat after 3 months - just like with Botoxonly you will not be injecting toxic fluids into your body;).

…our next anti aging wrinkle cream comrade is:

I Yeast To Look Old, But Now I Don’t!

This yeast-based mask is awesome for boosting blood circulation. It also helps with face flabbiness (sagging face), reduces wrinkles and cleans your pores.

Ingredients:

1/2 oz fresh yeast

2 tbsp olive or jojoba oil (for dry skin)

2 tbsp yogurt (for oily skin)

2 tbsp warm milk (for normal skin)

Apply in 3 layers, as with our Honey Mask. Leave on for 20 mins after applying last layer, then rinse off. Use once to two times per week until you have applied twenty treatments. Repeat after 3 months.

Now back to finding that anti aging wrinkle cream that does what it’s supposed to. The masks are truly great, but you are going to need a good anti aging wrinkle cream to apply morning and night to keep that young complexion consistent.

A wonderful, educational and truly illuminating way to find just that is just a click away: http://antiagingreviews.com. Now go get younger!

Food high in antioxidant – ripe fruits

May 28th, 2008 By Sookyee | Posted in Antioxidants for Antiaging, Natural Anti Aging No Comments »

The benefits of antioxidants for one’s body and skin are known by all. We also know that fruits and vegetables are foods high in antioxidants. The researchers report in the journal that the breakdown of chlorophyll in ripening apples and pears produces colorless decomposition products, called nonfluorescing chlorophyll catabolytes (NCC), are highly active antioxidants—making them potentially very healthy.

The beautifully colored leaves of fall are a sign of leaf senescence, the programmed cell death in plants. This process causes the disappearance of chlorophyll, which is what gives leaves their green color. In recent years, researchers working with the botanists have been able to identify the first decomposition products: colorless, polar NCCs that contain four pyrrole rings—like chlorophyll and heme.

Now the researchers have examined the peels of apples and pears. Unripe fruits are green because of their chlorphyll. In ripe fruits, NCCs have replaced the chlorophyll, especially in the peel and the flesh immediately below it. These catabolytes are the same for apples and pears, and are also the same as those found in the leaves of the fruit trees. There is clearly one biochemical pathway for chlorophyll decomposition in leaf senescence and fruit ripening,

When chlorophyll is released from its protein complexes in the decomposition process, it has a phototoxic effect: When irradiated with light, it absorbs energy and can transfer it to other substances. For example, it can transform oxygen into a highly reactive, destructive form. As the researchers were able to demonstrate, the NCCs have an opposite effect: They are powerful antioxidants and can thus play an important physiological role for the plant.

NCCs are components of the diets of humans and they play a role in the body systems. Other previously identified important antioxidants in the peels of fruits include the flavonoids. Thus, the saying, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” seems to be true,

Reversing aging, advancing hope

May 18th, 2008 By Sookyee | Posted in Antiaging Skin Care, Natural Anti Aging No Comments »

Flawless skin, refined texture, and the softness you would love to touch—these are the constant promises and benefits of Anti Aging Creams we find in cosmetics department stores, today. Women are constantly in search for the best products in the market which could provide them with the rejuvenating miracle they have always been looking for in various Anti Aging products. Whether the product is imported or locally made, whether it is pricey or affordable, as long as it can fulfill the nagging need in most women to retain their youth, cash registers would always have a field day in stores.

If we take a look at the shelf giants today like Biotherm, L’Oreal, Zirh, among others, they are known for the “special” ingredients they contain—the ones guaranteed to offer the best results overnight or for a considerable length of time depending on skin type and the individual’s beauty and anti-aging demands. However, there are only two kinds of anti-aging cream in the market today regardless what is stated on their labels. It is time to define the difference between naturally and chemically manufactured products. Yes, we set our sights on the benefits, but the ingredients worth a look, too.

Beauty products always carry taglines whichtitillates the senses – everyone wants to become beautiful. Beauty always captures the world, so they say, in fact, every famous man or woman in history always has another man or woman behind who influenced the course of their fate. What we don’t see beneath the surface of elegant plastic container and within plastic cream bottles are beauty ingredients that may be harmful.

Let us separate the common setting of a grocery shelf into two: natural skin creams from artificial creams. Although the packaging will tell us that they offer common benefits, the packaging will never tell us if they have side effects, and most importantly what they truly contain.

Let us take a bottle of natural anti aging cream for an example. The product’s contents may come from leaves like natural Aloe Vera, Asian Papaya, fruit and vegetable essence, and other naturally acquired substances. Evaluating the ingredients of this cream, we will surely agree to one thought: there are less chances of having side effects due to the natural aspects of the product.

Natural anti aging creams have always been less suspected to cause cancer and skin problems. Irritation and allergies have less chances of occurring due to the compatibility of natural essence to most skin types. Natural anti aging creams are known for their special ability of adapting to different skin types without causing irritations, wounds, and rashes. Aside from being just the “friendly type” of cream, natural anti aging creams can produce the same nanoparticles which artificial items are injected with. These nano-particles, also termed microenscapulation, make the natural ingredients easier to be absorbed by the skin.

Unfortunately, not all natural creams last long enough to provide the user their best results. Natural creams are easily spoiled unless injected with preservatives; but opting for that would mean losing the natural essence of the product.

Let us now pick up a household name from the shelf were artificial creams belong to. If we view them closely, they may contain uncommon ingredients. They either contain most of the laboratory-infused ingredients or they are plainly too artificial thus unsafe for usage. Also known as artificial anti aging creams, these products contain unnatural peptides, Vitamin A or retina-A, Alph-Lipoic Acid, and Hyaluronic Acid or DMAE. These products are possible factors for skin rashes when used onto the wrong skin type, and worse, they could be the very sources of skin cancer and other skin abnormalities

As a cosmetics user, you are always open to two options: go artificial or go natural, but for the choice of safety and for the choice of receiving par benefits, going natural would be the best option.
