Human Growth Homone is harmful to your health
Have you heard of HGH? HGH stands for human growth hormone in short, it is claimed to be effective for anti-aging skincare treatment.
A plastic surgeon hopes to open his “aesthetic medicine” clinic next year where he could administer HGH as an anti-ageing treatment drug. He said that HGH has made both his wife and himself look years younger. He also claims that human growth hormone (HGH) has improved his memory and removed wrinkles, and made his wife, look young enough to be his daughter. Both the plastic surgeon and his wife have been taking regular injections of HGH for 18 months.
HGH has not been approved for use as an anti-ageing drug. However, physicians can prescribe HGH to patients “off licence” only if the patients are told that it is not officially approved. According to a study HGH reversed “10-20 years of ageing” in elderly men. As a result, in spite of no official approval, the sales of HGH rose to £400million a year.
Doctors announced that they would NOT recommend the use of HGH for anti-aging treatment and they warned about the fatal side effects of the drug. Human growth hormone is very potent and it’s not licensed for this use. The likely side effects included headaches, increased pressure inside the brain, fluid retention, ankle swelling and pains in muscles and joints.
Long-term usage of HGH can cause diabetes or heart failure and can make the thyroid underactive. It can also result in acromegaly — a condition that causes oily skin, a large tongue and protruding forehead. Sufferers of HGH sometimes have a huge chin, huge spade-like hands, a deep voice and curved spines.
HGH should be administered carefully and under controlled circumstances so the effects can be monitored. The plastic surgeon debated that problems of HGH are typically associated with too-high doses of the hormone. Taken in low doses, research shows that human growth hormone is as safe as vitamin C.
Despite the disapprovals of human growth hormone uses as anti-aging drug a consultant endocrinologist supported the plastic surgeons’ wish to use HGH as anti-aging skincare treatment.
